DevSecOps and stuff. Homelab. Trying to build rad web shit.

Apparently I’m starting to get followed by right wingers. If you want to insta-blocked, go for it, I guess.

It would behoove everybody to think of this week as a declaration of war.

One thing to keep in mind: wars are not won by brute force alone, they're won by psy-ops & demoralizing our morale.

Please reasses information you read from the point of view: why does it benefit the enemy if I believe this?

Can anyone get this in front of MacKenzie Scott? I feel like she’d do a lot of good at the helm there.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Starting to get very tied of the fact that Muted Words doesn’t cover pictures. What’s the point of trying to build myself one singular bubble on the internet where I don’t have to see one of their stupid faces if my feed is gonna be wall to wall Their Faces?

Democrats are STILL more mad at each other for whatever made up slights they’re upset about right now than THE PEOPLE WHO DIDN’T EVEN VOTE. Be angry at those people for letting this happen rather than people on your own side because they’re not reacting to hell the exact what you’d like. Losers.

You won't be any better at fighting what's coming if you burn yourself out and spend all your time feeling bleak and hopeless, and the people telling you that it's all despair now probably don't have anyone's best interest at heart.

I knew @theverge.com was gonna do a paid tier but I didn’t realize quite how much they were going to throw behind the paywall. It’s a shame, they do good reporting but I can’t afford to subscribe to every outlet that chooses this model. Time to black hole them on the DNS server, I guess. ✌️

Honestly can’t wait for certain folks in my life to continue ignoring the cyber security degree I worked hard at for years and just download Chinese TikTok 2: Totally Not Spies anyway. If they haven’t listened yet, why would they start now? Good luck with getting your identities stolen, I guess.

I love her advice in this: buy one book, basically any introductory physics book you can find used for like $10, and just work through it for a year.

You'll know more math and physics a year later than basically everyone who ever lived.

All I want to do is keep learning things until I die.

We all have magic rectangles in our hands at pretty much all times that can instantly tell us how _anything_ works.

Absolutely bonkers to me that more people don’t want to take more advantage of the culmination of all human knowledge.

Apparently Reddit got rid of the “swipe to collapse comments” feature. I’ve been trying and failing to drop Reddit like a bad habit for over a decade now, so congratulations Reddit Team for killing Alien Blue and finally making your official app shitty enough to drive me away!

I’m rebuilding a site with @11ty.dev. Beyond being a delight of an SSG, it’s inspired other fun ideas. The next one scrapes cruise dock schedules to tell locals if going downtown is worth it. Being able to build and host a useful website over a non-hackathon weekend In My Thirties is WILD.

My NAS has been “getting pretty full” for years now and I just ordered an upgrade. Adding ~32TB usable with a second NAS unit, to allow for a more physical separation of volumes. I have several fun home infra projects planned and I’m giddy in a way that was starting to feel unrecognizable.

Ansible is fun except for when you need to use multiple versions of Ansible to set up Python 3.x venv’s across our fleet so we can use one newer version of Ansible to actually do some fleet management work.

So many people around me are chatting about about what foods they’re making for Thanksgiving get togethers back home. Meanwhile I’m over here thinking of what shenanigans I can get into now that my homelab is on my tailnet.
