You may have seen that BBC News online’s Middle East editor is taking legal action against me over my work on the BBC’s editorial approach to Israel/Palestine.
I strongly disagree with his claims, and, if necessary, I look forward to vigorously defending my reporting in court.

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.
He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"
China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

<div class="content">
<div class="field field-field-text"><p><a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/israel" target="_blank">Israeli </a>minister Itamar Ben Gvir handed out sweets in parliament on Monday after a bill allowing death penalty for <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/palestine" target="_blank">Palestinian</a> <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/Palestinian%20prisoners" target="_blank">prisoners</a> passed its first reading. </p>
<p>The bill was approved by a majority of 39 out of 120 Knesset members, with 16 voting against in Israel's parliament.</p>
<p>It would allow judges to impose the death penalty on Palestinians convicted of killing Israelis on so-called “nationalistic” grounds.</p>
<p>The legislation would not apply to Israelis who kill Palestinians under similar circumstances.</p>
<p>The bill now requires two more readings in the Knesset before it can become an official law. </p>
<p>Hamas called the legislation "fascist and sadistic" and called for global action against Israel, including "deterrent sanctions."</p>
<p>The Islamic Jihad said the bill's passing was "a dangerous criminal escalation".</p>
