I've recently finished reading 'The Sky Is Red' by Kenneth Leech. First published in the late 1990s, the chapters of the book concerning the social and political questions for the then-coming twenty-first century are remarkably prescient. The 'Fear and Fascism' chapter is especially relevant in 2025

Nationalism and the far-right are antithetical to Christianity, and it is particularly sad and deeply concerning to see this "Christian nationalism" here in Cornwall.

We need Green parties because established parties of government like Labour and the Conservatives have not done enough to protect the environment, deal with climate breakdown or create a fairer and more equal society.
