I am lucky to be spending the holiday with loved ones, in a beautiful place, with good food and clean water. Grateful for that and the opportunity to keep fighting until everyone has the same.

The poor have to go hungry, get sick, and die so the rich can have even more money to extend their lavish lifestyles indefinitely. My latest oped in The Santa Fe New Mexican

When the president is destroying national landmarks, murdering fishermen, raising prices because he's angry over a Reagan video, and kidnapping parents in front of their crying children is probably not an ideal time to have a lazy, completely incompetent legislative branch perpetually on vacation.

The ballroom is a money laundering scheme, the government won’t reopen anytime soon and Congress essentially doesn’t exisit anymore.

The task now is to preserve what we can until we can topple the dictatorship. Learn from the folks who have done it before.

We’ve done this before to prevent the sell off of public lands, we can do it again! Tell your congress critters: no deal without saving healthcare. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Stay strong! Here’s a link to send a letter: actionnetwork.org/letters/tell...

I can’t believe I’m watching interviews of city mayors talking about how they are coordinating with other mayors to discuss how to protect their residents FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

I know we are “used to it” but it is absolutely insane

I am really honored to be quoted in this excellent article about the real families and children that will face indescribably difficult choices when these Medicaid cuts hit.
Trump’s bill is a ‘death warrant’ say parents of sick rural kids on Medicaid
‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act’ is projected to cut nearly $1 trillion in Medicaid spending over the next decade. Parents with sick kids and doctors tell Rhian Lubin the cuts are ‘final nail in the coffi...

I love all the right wingers accusing everyone of “fear-mongering.” Honey, fear-mongering is how we got into this. How we got a budget for ICE bigger than most other countries’ whole militaries, and a detention budget 13x bigger than 2024.

Dr. Hayes and I wrote an op-ed about the effect of Medicaid cuts on NM—it’s bad. Very very bad. www.santafenewmexican.com/opinion/my_v...
Medicaid cuts will hurt patients, providers in N.M.
An already-dire health care crisis in rural New Mexico will worsen exponentially if the Medicaid and other health care cuts in the “Build Back Better” legislation are allowed to pass

As the world crumbles around us, it's never been more important to find ways to create kinship and solidarity, and to speak out in whatever ways we can.

My book launch is a little more than a month away. If you are not in Santa Fe but would like to attend, you can livestream starting at 6:30 MDT.

My thoughts exactly!
So far today I've received 28 pitches for upcoming books. By 28 different publicists representing 28 different authors. There is so little space to cover any of them. Which is why this AI-created and unedited by humans summer reading list is such a slap in the face.
