Trans athlete bans always get used to police cis women's bodies. The athletes affected by this are disproportionately Black. There's a direct through line from this stuff to racism.
Neither NWSL nor USSF have a trans athlete policy. The one NWSL adopted previously was abandoned years ago. Meanwhile, a lobby group seeking to ban trans athletes has laid out their plan for American soccer.

NWSL and US Soccer’s lack of transgender policy targeted by conservative lobby groups
The NWSL’s transgender participation policy, thought to still be in place, was abandoned in 2022, the league confirmed

Took me a bit to process how big a deal this report actually is--its thus far the only review to look at the entire body of currently available research. It took two years to conduct, stands at 1,000 pages, and completely contradicts the Cass Review and the common arguments for bans on this care.
Republicans in Utah commissioned an investigation into gender-affirming care for trans youth after banning it in 2023.

They're now rejecting the findings of that investigation which showed access to care reduced suicides and improved "positive mental health and psychosocial functioning outcomes."
Utah lawmakers’ own study found gender-affirming care benefits trans youth. Will they lift the treatment ban?
The Utah Legislature's own newly-released study found that gender-affirming care benefits trans youth. Now, will lawmakers lift the treatment ban?

Every Harry Potter book or shirt you buy directly funds the persecution of trans people.

There's absolutely no excuse to support anything Harry Potter anymore unless you hate trans people.

Always like to remind people while there is no ethical consumption under capitalism- there is less ethical consumption under capitalism
your regular reminder that buying Harry Potter stuff gives money to Rowling and she uses that money directly and in large quantities to fund attacks on trans people

no ethical consumption under capitalism and all but “don’t buy Potter stuff” is an extremely easy baseline to follow
The upcoming Hogwarts Legacy 2 could potentially feature more characters from the Harry Potter books and movies.

Staking this claim now: should we be so fortunate as to get another Democratic trifecta, it should be judged a failure if it does not 1) jail the people responsible for this, 2) abolish or in some other way dismantle and disarm ICE
According to litigators, on Tuesday, at one detention center in Texas, ICE gathered together 1 Vietnamese, 1 Lao, and 4 other people in detention and ordered them to sign paperwork agreeing to be sent to Libya.

All 6 refused, so ICE handcuffed them and threw them into solitary.

92 years ago today, the Nazis raided the Magnus Hirschfeld Institute for Sexuality, where the first study of trans people was conducted, and burned all of its contents.

Fitting that today is also the day SCOTUS greenlights the project of the eradication of trans people from society in the US.

This entire amazing thread
As Chinua Achebe says, "Until the lions have their historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunter."

Trans people had and have our historians.

The Nazi party of Germany burned their library.

Then they said queer people have no history.
