A reminder that gas-powered leafblowers are nightmare devices that are bad for you, bad for your lawn, and very bad for the environment. They fume and scream and kill the world all so you can messily and ineffectively move leaves around, leaves which are generally supposed to stay where they fell.

Lawyers working with clients who are going through hard times could probably share 10 gofundmes from clients every day. So if they do rarely share one, you know it’s someone who is in an especially difficult or dangerous spot.
A lawyer I know is trying to help an abuse victim client relocate to get away from their abusive ex. They have an infant child and they're really struggling due to SNAP being cut. Would be really cool if you're in a position to help a stranger out.

Your employer cannot just decide that you are an independent contractor! There are legal factors that determine if that is true or not. If you are wondering if you can file for unemployment or file a workers’ comp claim, call a lawyer, don’t just believe what your employer says.

Reminds me of that study about how white men from the south are more likely to get insulted and aggressive when they face conflict than men from northern states. But also all cops are like that.

I hate that there are all these debates being had - necessary because of the unprecedented nature of young children torturing and SA-ing an even younger child. Apparently there were also other children involved in the assault who were younger than the 9 and 10 year old, who weren’t charged.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.
certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
