I have just finished all of #TheMurderbotDiaries books (by @marthawells.com) & they are a goddamn delight. If you like snarky action/sci-fi stuff, check them out. Also, for the record, ART & Murderbot may be my very favorite fictional couple.

I really can’t recommend this series enough. If this sounds like your bag, I assure you it is.
How about a violent, sweary necromancer with anger management issues making really horrible life choices many of which involve murdering his problem away? The Eric Carter series www.penguinrandomhouse.com/series/EC2/e...

The most punk rock film festival ever runs a rad discord and secret monthly movie club. I fucking love it and if you crave weirdo cinema and camaraderie, you will too.

Long live CFF, which is going to have the most epic edition of the festival this June! 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Every dollar we raise through our Double Secret Cinema Society helps us keep our nonprofit entirely volunteer driven festival alive and makin trouble for them AI lovin types.
Don't forget, the hot'n'ready April edition of our StaffPix streaming recommendations drops tonight at 12:01am ON THE DOT. Head over to the @chattfilmfest.bsky.social's Patreon page to get subbed up and ready to rock. patreon.com/ChattanoogaF...

This. All fucking day.
Here's our pissy internet rant of the day. We wish more distros and festivals gave more of a fuck about accessibility and less of a fuck about AI. Does now really feel like the time to choose software over human beings?
So I will say this as gently as I can: given the current state of the world, cons (especially held in the US) should really keep or enhance their online programming instead of eliminating it. I understand it takes resources to run a hybrid con but the alternative is to exclude the rest of the world

Thinkin bout Warren Zevon’s Don’t Let Us Get Sick for no real reason. Hard not to hear a plea from Zevon to remember ourselves in these times.

Don't let us get sick
Don't let us get old
Don't let us get stupid, all right?
Just make us be brave
And make us play nice
And let us be together tonight

This is where I’m at on Mission: Impossible. I always bounce off of two in the middle. I don’t know why.

Also, has anyone else noticed Ethan Hunt hates suit jackets? Whenever he’s walking around with one on, he’s got his hand over the button like he’s ready to shed it at a moments notice.

On rewatch, I dig SUITABLE FLESH even more. Yeah, it rips! Yeah, it’s delightfully horny! They just hit such a perfect vibe from the lighting, to the sets, to the acting. This Lovecraftian horror flick drips 90s softcore midnight sleaze. I love it.

Out on @shudder.bsky.social now!

When I worked at Barnes and Noble this was my favorite series to hand sell. Couldn’t recommend it higher: treat yourself!
There’s still one week to get SANDMAN SLIM for $1.99 in your favorite ebook format. There’s magic. Old gods. Punching. Talkative dead guys. Kissing. More punching. Drinking. And the Devil. Join the party and make out with your favorite Hollywood succubus or incubus.

This is good advice!
Emerging from the time fog of being a new parent to remind you (and myself!) that I made a Christmas horror film released by Arrow last year. Throw it into your last minute rotation if you’re looking for something naughty.
