Who would have thought that the dude who wrote the fucking Pina Colada song was casually orchestrating GOLD years prior? This whole album has me gobsmacked. Wtf.

48 hour binge?
The craziest assignment I've ever completed was ranking 80+
Christmas Horror movies for /Film in 2017, but I knew that wouldn't be the end.

I've turned the piece into a Letterboxd list with 160+ titles and counting should anyone find it useful! #HorrorSky
ALL THE CHRISTMAS HORROR
The year was 2017. The month was December. I accepted the task of ranking *all* Christmas Horror Films for /Film - and article you can read in full (82 entries, some 56 movies over 30 days) - but I re...

The manager of our local laser tag arena. Bleach blonde bull cut with a glow in the dark eyebrow ring. Guy was probably a sophomore in high school but to us 12 year olds, he was a god who knew how to hack the packs for secret weapons.

First in-theater R rated experience was ENEMY AT THE GATES.
Did you watch R rated movies before you were 17? If you did, do you remember what your first R rated movie was?

Mine was Starship Troopers. Not sure exactly how old I was but I couldn't have been older than 11 based on where we lived

There are a lot of reasons why Chattanooga Film Festival is my favorite film festival. They have an amazing team, always have a killer lineup of films, their dedication to keeping the fest hybrid and caring about accessibility are just a few of the reasons I love this fest. 🎥 #filmsky #horrorsky

THE RARE BLUE APES OF CANNIBAL ISLE (1975) A Malaysian “kids film” made by a sexploitation director. Genuinely the most entertaining thing I’ve seen in a while. Highly recommended to fans of ROAR! and other mondo obscurities.

This boxset is wild. First watch: RED MIDNIGHT made in 1966 by a New England Optometrist about the very specific dangers of wooden homes being built too close together in America and the potential for enemy firestorms. Part documentary footage, part fictionalized narrative from a paranoid mind.

Emerging from the time fog of being a new parent to remind you (and myself!) that I made a Christmas horror film released by Arrow last year. Throw it into your last minute rotation if you’re looking for something naughty.

Once again out here to declare Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness is one of his most underrated yet finest works. The eerie atmosphere. The sense of doom closing in. The provocative strangeness of it. What a film

WITCHBOARD by Glenn McQuaid (I SELL THE DEAD, VHS) is essential October music. Incredible stuff.

One of the most upsetting and genuinely disturbing films, which I also happen to watch an unhealthy amount because of how masterfully staged and beautifully shot it is. Makes for a great double with EXORCIST III.

I dug the new PET SEMATARY. Would make for a fun double feature with the always haunting DEATH DREAM.

If you are at Fantastic Fest this weekend, please check out CRUMB CATCHER. Written and directed by my dear friend Chris Skotchdopole and starring Rigo Garay from THE LEECH. Chris and his team at Glass Eye Pix have made something truly special that’s sure to bring down the house.
