RIP Steve Cropper
One of the most thrilling songs ever. And that guitar is just perfection.
Also on stage: Al Jackson Jr. & Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn smoking his ever present pipe.

This one matters. RIP Steve Cropper.
Fuck, this one hurts, for me the greatest guitarist, a musician in the service of the band and the song, who played on and helped create a wild succession of the finest records ever made. RIP Steve Cropper.

Going off what Donald values as “contributing to America” - i.e. child sex slavery, human trafficking, importing 400 tons of cocaine, running pretend currencies for organised crime - it sounds like the Somali community of America are peaceful pillars of the community.

I think Will Smith thought “Will2K” would be a much bigger part of popular culture than it ended up being.

I’ll not show a preview yet, but I think I’ve got the next album cover designed, after 14 different draft designs.

I need to work on the last track though. It’s good, but it’s not hitting the spot for me.

We're watching the wholesale burning of every scrap of dignity afforded to trans people in the UK, their rights, their medical services, their employment, their place within society, their bodily functions.

It is a disgrace, and a disgusting stain on the government and media of this country.

Apparently 'Rubber Soul' by The Beatles turns 60 years old today.

Which provides for the perfect excuse to share this taken from it.

Quite simply one of the finest pop songs ever recorded 🖤x

The new @polypores.bsky.social album isn't merely good, it's astonishing. Stephen has been on the form of his life lately, and this is so good it just makes me wonder why I even bother. A joyous maelstrom of kaleidoscopic polyrhythms and gorgeous melodies. polypores.bandcamp.com/album/hungry...

I genuinely don’t get the hate for Last Christmas or Wonderful Christmastime when the execrable, plodding Driving Home For Christmas is right there.

Remember in May when Trump gave asylum to 17 family members of the Sinaloa cartel after making a deal with El Chapo’s son? And did you know in 2013, El Chapo bribed Juan Hernandez- who trump just pardoned - in exchange for protection in Honduras? I’m sure it’s all just a coincidence.

Them: “So you’re a DJ then?”

Me: [pinches bridge of nose, sighs, counts to ten]
What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!

A reminder that London is far safer than many major cities, that crime is falling and that racists hate both these truths because they undermine their vicious little divisive narrative.

Multiculturalism works. London works. And those who hate both things hate themselves most of all.
There were 93 homicides in London last year: population 9 million

In New York - population 8.5 million - there were
391.

London's homicide figure is 6 times lower than LA, 9 times lower than Miami, 17 times lower than Chicago.

And it's falling year on year despite the population increasing
