Those observing Christmas are celebrating a family of asylum seekers. If there is indeed a "War on Christmas," it's being waged by those trying to make our country less safe for the poor, for the marginalized, and for refugees.

Why is anyone watching Vine? Genuine question
Jemma Forte, "You are defending a man who won't release the Epstein files"

Brian Coleman, "I have no time with this obsession with Epstein"

"Who cares what people did in private as long as it was legal"

Jemma Forte, "Wow! It wasn't legal"

So so sad to hear this - but I’d rather see you do this now than read later that you fell into line Robin. Shameful that the honourable and decent should be targets of the clipboards. Hope that we’ll still have access to your talents on the outside. RIP strawberry.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

I’ve changed my mind and changed my position. I think the Labour government should now campaign on rejoining the Single Market and the Customs Union at the next General Election.

The economy is not going to grow sufficiently to improve living standards until we do.

‘Racism can damage your health’
Not comfortable with the celebrations in some replies, but the article is weird. Paints him as a working class hero and "character", rather than a man with a lifetime of violence.and hooliganism, who fell to his death while taking part in a festival of xenophobia. It normalises it. Dangerous.
"He was reputed to be the first person in the country to receive a football banning order when they were introduced, and spent several spells in prison in his younger days for football-related violence."

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

Buy a book.

Any book, it doesn't matter which. The one you've been looking forward to, the one with the title that made you laugh, the weighty award-winner you've been meaning to get to. Whatever.

Treat yourself. Step away from it all. In this time of gross ignorance & madness, read something.

The government needs to be all over this shit.
Rules should be put in place, only UK resident taxpayers should able to contribute.

Just heard from caller Michael on @mrjamesob.bsky.social “… a really good pair of ear defenders are the perfect antidote to people like Richard Tice …” Absolute gold ⭐️ Such an important topic today - 30 minutes into an excellent phone-in and I’ll be listening again on catchup - thanks.

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

This is wonderful and also true.
The analogies you draw, the thoughts you suddely have, the roads you pursue, the structures you comprehend, simply because a piece of art or theatre shakes you up and makes you think differently.
Great culture can save lives. Literally.

Lib Dem & Green coalition next time perchance?
These are the voters that Labour strategists have made very clear over a long period of time that they don't want any more, and it's a message that has now been heard
I've been out canvassing quite a lot in London lately. Labour's vote has absolutely evaporated.... it is quite extraordinary to go to places where Labour were on 50-60% of the vote at the last locals and find nobody, or virtually nobody, supporting them.

Why do governments chase Farage and his voters, thinking that will neutralise them. It’s NEVER worked. He’s leading in the polls and his ideas have ruined us. WTF are you doing?
This is as bad as anything proposed by Reform.
