Im so grateful to @chasestrangio.bsky.social and everyone who continues to fight for the rights of transgender Americans, and who push back against healthcare discrimination more broadly as well.

The front lines of civil rights fights are never easy. But we need good folks there.

1. In a landmark ruling, a federal judge has blocked the passport ban for transgender Americans... government ban likely violates equal protection, and is made with animus.

Though the ruling only applies to plaintiffs, it is expected expand in coming weeks.

In the 90s, Toni Morrison found out that one of her books had been banned in a men’s prison because they were afraid it would incite a riot. And she was absolutely delighted. In an interview she smiled and said “how powerful is that?” I want to write books that incite riots and tear down prisons.

A Montana judge has temporarily blocked the state's bathroom ban targeting trans adults in airports, colleges, and more.

He ruled that the state showed no evidence bathroom bans protect women.

A contingent of officers waited for her, and stood outside the door.

When she stepped in, she was arrested and sent to a men's jail.
