"The [media] narrative that private schools are packed with children whose parents are working five jobs and driving a clapped-out old Skoda is just not true."
Labour's private school VAT hike has exposed a myth
It is families in the top 5 per cent of earners that mostly send their children to private school

This woman claims £8,400 from the Government in Universal Credit, £1,800 in Bursary contributions.

But she doesn't want to pay £800 a year in Private School VAT to pay for these things.

Child Poverty % (children living in households below the minimum wage)

Denmark 2.4%
Finland 3.2%
Norway 3.6%
Sweden 3.6%

The UK 32.1%

All four of those countries have child benefits, paid by taxing the rich, that make it almost impossible for a child to be in poverty.

Dear @keirstarmer2.bsky.social,

Please move the laws around political & campaign financing to the top of your list

Or…

Expect 1 term that ends in handing power of this country to a foreign billionaire proxy PM and his little puppet

Yours,

The people of this country paying attention.

Another cracking watch from @jimmythegiant.bsky.social

Should be required watching for anyone who yaps about immigration and the "sovereignty" of the UK.

The only "dark" thing we should be worrying about is money.

In 1970 the richest 1% had about 4x the wealth of the average person, and the richest 0.01% had about 30x.

Now the richest 1% have 12x the wealth of the average person, and the richest 0.01% have 1000x.

This is the problem.
