Unregulated
expansion of associate roles in the NHS without the necessary training & safety checks, has put the health of some

Job security in medicine - previously paraded as guaranteed - doesn’t exist

Will @NavinaEvans commit to no involuntary unemployment for UK doctors?

Or is @NHSE_WTE’s workforce planning failure leading towards a never event?

Is it even failure or intentional from @DHSCgovuk
6 years ago, when I got an offer for medical school, I was told I’d have a job for life.

Weekly, I hear of people that can’t get doctors appointments, or two year waitlists.

Doctors in their thousands are getting rejected for jobs, and today I was one of them. A 🧵.

The Government is backtracking on agreements made

This doesn’t bode well for their attempt to build trust from doctors

We know there’s only one body we can trust, and that’s ourselves.

Doctors should keep their details updated and stay posted:

In 2013 work was done to establish the future need for GPs

At that time projections estimated the need for 36-44k GPs by 2025

In 2015 5000 more were promised by the incoming Tory Govt by 2019 they increased this to 6000

27500 the reality wasn’t even on the graph

The RCoA Scope of Practice for Anaesthesia Associates is out - but what about those Trusts that don't adhere to it? Are they negligent?

We asked an academic lawyer for her opinion.

TL;DR; The RCoA means business.
