Realism about Trump....

Bank of Canada Governor Macklem says the era of open, rules-based trade with the US is over.

‪Clémentine Autain should be France's next President.

Shock in Italy at news that Trump is sending ICE thugs there for the Winter Olympics.
The mayor of co-host Milan called ICE "a militia that kills".
US sources say ICE will help protect Vance and Rubio at the event.
The more likely purpose is to undermine Europe.

The people of Minnesota beat brutal Trump regime commander Bovino. He's out.
But, tragically, it took the deaths of two innocent civilians before Trump acted.
And that was only because even some Republicans expressed disapproval of what Trump, Stephen Miller and Bovino inflicted on Minneapolis.

Canada, like many countries, should disinvest in US data company Palantir, which provides ICE with its target list.

Founder Peter Thiel is on record as being against democracy.

Yet Canada's Public Sector Pension Investment Board and the Canadian Pension Plan are major shareholders in Palantir.

Good. The EU should stop Musk facilitating and broadcasting illegal sexual content. Doubtless, he'll claim this infringes his freedom of speech.
(Note to Musk: this is the EU, not the United States, so you can stick your "freedom of speech" where the sun don't shine.)
The European Commission has opened a fresh investigation into Elon Musk’s X following an explosion of non-consensual sexualized deepfakes created by the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok.

For people like me, we look at Alex Pretti and think 'that could have been me'.

The US government could summarily execute me on the street for speaking out against them and excuse it by calling me a "domestic terrorist"

So when most European governments call this regime their ally, it is chilling.

Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Trump's United States: Minneapolis

This is the country that's trying to tell Europeans how to run our countries.

And plans to make sure we do it their way by backing far-right extremists in our elections.

The government that put killer gangs on the streets of the United States is trying to tell Europeans how we should run our countries.

Some people agree with them. Nigel Farage, for instance.

Appeasement of Trump has been a resounding failure.
Former EU FM Fontelles: “After a year of Trump in the White House, it is evident that the appeasement strategy followed so far by the EU has been a resounding failure. We must not yield on trade matters and must swiftly advance in Europe's strategic and political sovereignty.”
