🚨 ICYMI 🚨

Spent a year investigating a Christian Nationalist organization operating in my state! Their aim is to control every library in the state of Louisiana.

I uncovered their:

- tactics
- origins
- donors
- Collusion with state lawmakers

And more.

Read and share below!
🚨 NEW INVESTIGATION 🚨

“Soft targets”

That’s how CFNL refers to institutions like library boards, because they are easy to takeover.

And that’s what they’ve tried to do, and they’ve tried to do it quietly.

So I’ve spent the last year investigating them.

#nolasky #nolatwitter #Louisiana our #lalege is almost done with their sausage making and one Big Bad Bill criminalizing homelessness remains. SB 196 could actually stay dead for the session IF y'all contact your senators and let them know what you think.

So, the budget bill that passed the House would likely cripple access to law school, medical school, and other unfunded graduate school opportunities by eliminating Grad Plus loans. Students would be forced to use high-interest private loans that lack public service repayment.

#OPINION Despite voters rejecting Amendment 3, state senators just advanced SB 74 — pushing all arrested 15- & 16-year-olds into adult court. Every senator on the committee comes from a district that voted no.

Last week, the state Senate Judiciary committee passed a bill that would automatically funnel all arrested 15- and 16-year-olds into the adult system. That’s not what Louisiana voters want.

Hey #NOLAsky re #HandsOff today
I'm a cybersecurity professor and I agree with this.

If your threat model includes the cops confiscating your phone to acquire your sensitive data... Look up "full disk encryption Android/iOS", set it, and lock it with a long PIN/password (no biometrics). And be prepared to lose your phone.
For the vast majority of above-ground public protests “don’t bring your phone” is actually bad security advice. You are much more likely to need your phone to call for help or document police aggression than you are to be arrested later cuz your phone pinged a cell tower near the raging grannies

If you love your library, call your Congressional Representative and tell them how you feel.
While ILMS funding supports many programs, poor rural communities will likely feel these cuts first and most deeply. Rural libraries, which serve as lifelines to communities w/o reliable access to broadband, rely heavily on this funding for survival. This is criminal.
