This legend gets her name etched into history.

Alana King bowling in a test match from the Shane Warne end at the MCG.

Can’t get better than that.

The cricket gods have obliged. Alana King has 5 for. Queen Alana the MCG Honours board deservedly awaits.

So with 1 wicket to go to end the game, will the umpires extend play by 30 mins if we reach end of play for today at 10pm & by some miracle Eng survive?
February 1, 2025 at 9:41 AM
The real competition in this #Ashes test - who will get the 5 for, Gardner or King. Both deserving.

My preference is King, as she has been the bowler of the series.

One more wicket for Queen Alana & the MCG honor board awaits. The cricket gods are paying attention & complying.

As expected, Aus came out trying to add quick runs but all out with only 18 additional runs. Aus 1st innings total 440.

Credit where credit is due, Ecclestone bowled well this morning & cleaned up the tail, with Filer’s help.

This is why nuclear is a bullshit option. It’s there to extend coal & gas lifespan, not to seriously address climate change.
🤓 in just 6 years, australia's two main grids added 51 TWh/yr of wind+solar generation.

…taking us from 19.9% → 38.8% renewables.

…this is equivalent to 6.6 large #nuclear reactors, but at much lower cost & much faster.

…even more impressive given there's no chance of nuclear here for 20+ years.

Distraction - with a capital D.
Treat the Coalition’s nuclear policy as what it is. A distraction.

Another one of the Attorney General, Mark Dreyfus's stunning fusterclucks.

The #NACC balls-up will always be his crowning achievement, but after reading this it's clear he's a weak, if not hopeless, administrator who fails to oversee or demand results and efficiency.
New Administrative Review Tribunal (replacing AAT) has operated for 2 months and hasn't published a SINGLE decision. AAT published 12 or more a day. Says tech issues are to blame but won't commit to publishing at least as many decisions as predecessor. www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/law-cri...
Exclusive: New tribunal yet to publish a single decision
The Administrative Review Tribunal, which was intended to restore transparency and trust, has released none of the decisions from its first two months of operation, owing to technical problems.

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander flags are both official flags of Australia under Flags Act 1953. Dutton likes to punch down, exploit fear & it’s him being divisive once more. Shame on him. From walking out on apology to Stolen Generation to dooming the voice, not fit to lead.

The gender pay gap is now at its lowest recorded rate ever. This is because the Labor Govt:
1. Supported minimum wage increases
2. Banned pay secrecy clauses
3. Funded wage increases for aged care workers
4. Supported men to share in parental leave
6. Publishes gender pay gap of individual employers

This country has stolen hundreds & hundreds of millions of legitimate wages from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, from cattle stations to state, church & private ‘homes’. Always nice to see the courts order up some justice, always sad it took so long.
