The truth here is so ever relevant, is so simple and profound. I think I might pop it into my next book. Sharing yet again:

If this person sat next to you on a bus or train and started ranting about Bruce Springsteen in this way, you would get up and move to a different seat.

In the United States, we have him the nuclear codes.

Exactly
This is the thing. I never capped up black, never used the word Latinx and never displayed my pronouns. Apart from the odd angry tweet, there were precisely zero negative implications for these decisions. No-one was ever forced to do a damn thing.
If I were an editor at a prestigious national publication I would simply ask writers to define what they mean by words like "forced"

It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"

I've never seen a nation torch its reputation the way Musk and Trump are torching that of the US. Every day they find a way to make a new segment of the world population detest them. Makes Brexit look like a PR triumph.

I never realised Neil had such a flair for understatement
The last *seven days*?
What *we* have *always feared*?
What an irredeemable fraud he is.
Gets a whole chapter in ‘How They Broke Britain’.
And here he is now, ‘seeing the light’.

It's abuser talk. And anyone that says it, including those half-hearted bastards who defend Trump without really committing to it, deserves the damage to their reputation that follows.

“Crawling algorithms”

Johnson clearly doesn’t have a clue. This cannot be a forensic audit!! It’s a hatchet job on social security.

Wake up America

The barbarians are not at the gate, they are through the gates
Mike Johnson on Elon Musk: "We meet late into the night in his office and we've looked at that. What he's finding with his algorithms crawling through the data of Social Security system is enormous amounts of fraud, waste, and abuse."

Starmer needs to get off the fence
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has refused to comment on the Trump attack on Zelenskyy, the FT reports.

The only major European leader to do so.

“It took me 30 seconds to find at least ten postings from Zelensky directly thanking the United States for their support. There are many more.

This is pure BS.”

Keir Starmer must man up and get off the fence
Keir Starmer's spokespeople currently refusing to comment on Trump and Vance's attack on Zelensky today, despite almost all other European leaders rallying to publicly support the Ukrainian leader

Keir Starmer needs to get off the fence now
So far, however, as European leaders rush to express their support for Ukraine and Zelenskyy, there's an ominous silence from Downing Street. Maybe they hope something can be patched up with Trump, but any deal with him as a worthless as a deal with Putin.
This is the UK’s opportunity to be a relevant leading voice again. The right man, the mandate, the time.

Putin’s lifelong dream was to somehow separate the US from NATO. But how to break up a strong alliance that stood for 80 years and continued to expand? There really was only one way to do it, he figured it out a decade ago, and played the long game. Now his guy will do it.
