Does anyone have any recommendations for victorian-era writing? It's for a project. #writingcommunity #writing #booksky

I left the following comment:

The attitudes this administration—and particularly this department—have shown members of the trans and nonbinary community are disgusting, cruel, pointless, and unscientific.
Public comment is now open for passport gender marker changes.

You can go here to go to each of the three proposed passport rules, and submit comment.

My suggestion: be unique, argue for trans-inclusive policies, against the constitutionality of the changes, etc.

I've been having a rough time lately. I won't get into specifics. Instead, I'll share a passage from the best book I've read this year, "Piranesi". This is dedicated to any of you who've been struggling as I have.

The fact that almost 100% of the Trump's efforts have been spent attacking the vulnerable—trans people, immigrants, and Medicaid patients—and none has been spent attacking billionaires than shows just how much of a bully and a coward he is.

As much as I fucking hate the disgusting things that this administration is doing instead of, I don't know, CONTROLLING INFLATION LIKE HE "PROMISED," I want to remind my trans siblings that our community has been through worse before. Much worse. We'll get through this too, together.

Yesterday, I had a text convo with some friends because we're all feeling a bit shitty. I don't know if this will help anyone, but I said what I said as much for myself as for anyone else. Hope this makes someone feel at least a bit of hope when things seem a bit hopeless. #positivity #optimism 1/9

I can't speak for everyone, but auditory overload for me is a sort of omniscient deafness. I hear everything, but all at once and at the same volume, so it's like I'm not hearing anything at all.

The depression was strong today.

I was stronger. Made my word count today despite fierce internal opposition.

I think I dreamed about an Australian postal service musical because I woke up with the sound of Australian kids singing "Stamp, post, deliver" in my head. It was very jaunty. The Australian post must be a very whimsical place.

Got a hair trim the other day. I'm quite pleased with the results!

It can be hard to love myself for many reasons, but it's worth remembering that I made most of those reasons up.

If any of your friends are thinking of going into pharmacy, don't let them.

Question booksky. If I started a book in 2024 and ended in 2025, which year gets the credit?

In the four combined days of writing I've managed since my reset, I've written over 5,000 words. Yes, it's messy and will need to be revised big time, but I feel like I'm finally getting over the hump going into the new year 😊. #writingcommunity #writing #books
I managed to write 1000 words for the first time in weeks. And I feel so good. It's such a small thing in the grand scheme of things but I proved to myself that I could do it, despite my depression. For the first time in a while, I feel proud of myself. #writing #writingcommunity #booksky

I deal drugs. I went to school for exactly this reason.
I scream "THIS TEXT IS WRONG" a lot (and don't get paid)

Gonna wade into writing discourse a bit here. There seems to be a belief that the writing powers that be consider the use of adverbs to be an inherent sin. How dare these stuffy old men take away an entire part of speech away from the masses! No. That is not the case. #writingcommunity #writing

By far, the best, and indeed the only good thing about having a drive thru in the pharmacy is that you get to see dogs a lot more often.

One of the things I learned from "On Writing" was that we can learn quite a bit from books we don't like. I agree, but I'd like to add the following.

I made an author's note last night—a complete throwaway line that the audience won't even see—about a made-up liquor. I just realized that this line completely changes a key aspect of my story in a very interesting way. Thank God I'm not far along in my work yet! #writingcommunity #writing #books
