This person can do little but taint and ruin all that she touches.

That she may not further disgrace the reputation of that great character, she will depart from here and will not likely return. She wishes to inform her mistress that she should not trouble herself with locating her wicked ward.

The perfidy of this wretched creature is beyond even that of her own comprehension, but know that she has always admired and even loved her mistress.

She wished to make it understood that—and you may not believe these words, but they are God’s own truth—she is not nor was she ever an apothecary.

Here's an excerpt:

"Dearest and most trusting Anna,
The writer of these words has cruelly used you and abused that trusting nature of yours to her own personal and professional ruin.

Sorry just saw your reply lmao. It's going pretty well! I sent my first few chapters in to my writing group and they said they liked it a lot!

David copperfield for the narration style and the fact that it's bildungsroman, Mistborn because of the master/apprentice dynamic, and the something else is a person from the lead's past that tries to ruin things for her. I can't of any stories with that trope, though I know I've seen it before.

It's sort of a hybrid of David Copperfield, Mistborn, and something else I can't quite articulate. I'll explain in the next post.

I'm writing a fantasy story set in Victorian England written in an era-appropriate style a la Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell did with Regency era

Reverse the stance of the administration on passport renewal. It is the only humane thing to do."

There are people with XY chromosomes who develop as female phenotypically despite being "male" genotypically. Beliefs should not dictate policy, especially those beliefs which are invoked to harm rather than help.
February 20, 2025 at 2:45 PM
This is all worsened by the fact that this administration's stance on sex is not based upon science, but the administrations personal beliefs. There exist many permutations both in the human genotype and phenotype. There are people with XXY chromosomes.

This department has transformed the mundane process of receiving a passport in this country into a frightening one for transgender individuals. Numerous reports have been made of people having their supporting documents confiscated, leaving them without identification or a passport.

"It does not matter that you do not understand the reason. You are the Beloved Child of the House. Be comforted.
And I am comforted."

You are loved. Be comforted.

The main thing keeping me hopeful is that this administration is loaded with the dumbest people imaginable.

I had much the same thought last night. That would hurt me more than anything though because On Writing is the single most important book for my development as a writer.

It really does. He produced a lot of truly great films unfortunately.

Hope is an innately human thing. While we should never look away from a bad situation because we don't want to see-optimism cannot be a mere refutation of the bad-it's no better to deny that our world and its people are beautiful. It is worth fighting for. You are worth saving. 9/9

It won't change the ultimate outcome, but it could change a momentary one. In small moments, in little kindnesses, in little defiances, that's where I'll choose to live. 8/9
