2. Every single university that has invited OpenAI into our midst should be asked to account for their choices.

the last time a World Series game was played at SkyDome in Toronto, it was in 1993 against the Phillies and their catcher was Darren Daulton. Later, his Phillies teammate, Gary Varsho, named his son after Daulton, and Daulton Varsho just homered for the Blue Jays at SkyDome in the World Series

Distracted today by City crews taking down a silver maple that has been outside my house for 120+ years. It was once a beautiful, thriving canopy and was damaged by shady builders a couple years ago. It's not dead, but apparently the city doesn't care to try and preserve it.

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

This whole thing is absolutely terrifying.
Update: The Professor was fired, the Dean and Department Chair who (rightfully) defended her were removed from their positions, and every course at the University is now being subjected to a state audit.

Billions in funding cut. Billions evaporated from local and prov economies. International students pushed to a suicide wave.
It will get worse. 10 000 jobs gone or about to be. It’s front page news if an auto plant loses 200.

Conservative uni policy + idiotic admin = a nightmare.
This is an excellent analysis of what has been happening to post-secondary education in Ontario. It succinctly describes how the tuition cut and freeze by Ford directly lead to the explosion of international students, and how under funded ON universities are.
