An early #Caturday post to show the progress from today’s #CatHouse build. This will be a warm box shelter for the neighborhood ferals that we serve food to every night. More to come as I had to really…really…over-engineer this sucker.

It’s ready for a #MontanaWinter in #Tennessee.

“Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, a million miles away Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, written in the stars".”

1M miles won’t even get you to a single star from Earth. It barely gets you past the moon’s orbit, relatively speaking.

Hello, police, I'd like to report an avunculicide.

(Yes, I know the paternal uncle Latin would make it 'patruicide', but bite me, nerd.)

So, to be clear, this is a direct admission from them the tariffs were being paid by American consumers.

But will the MAGA crowd understand this?

Democrats are conservatives from a bygone era. The Republicans are, of course, actual fascists now. So, if you want to compare things to Nazis and Germany, the Democrats are closer to the followers of Papen, Hugenberg, and the Weimar government in general: weak, ineffectual, naive.

If Republican men are able to get their Gilead founded and enslave women as their breeder-harems, Megyn Kelly will be one of the Aunt Lydia holding women's legs open.

I'm left handed. Cursive, for me, was a punishment because no one cared that I had to do everything backwards or that my hand got all dirty and smudged and that my handwriting was abysmal. I switched to engineer-printing minus the blocky capital letters in everything and learned to type 120 wpm.
How mamy oomfs can still read and write in cursive? Is this truly a dying skill? I'm appalled

You know, as a fellow wage-slave to Lottie, this guy is pretty pass-aggro about my time off. Like dude, I'm a CONTRACTOR. I don't depend on Lottie. I have almost a billion bells in the bank, bucko. I'll take as much time as I want.

Just checked my #AnimalCrossing save after reading more about the new free update coming.

Given all the stuff I have hoarded and how long it took me to find/scrounge/buy it, I will *not* be starting my island over again. No way.

📌 Major development: Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson of SCOTUS issued an administrative stay of a district-court order that had required full November SNAP payments to ~42 million Americans during the government shutdown.

Supreme Court temporarily blocks order on releasing SNAP benefits
The order pauses, for now, a lower court ruling directing the Trump administration to release November benefits in full on Friday.

The road to Stamps Cemetery winds like a thought you can’t quite let go of.
Tennessee hills, old stones, and a man who keeps the veil tended.

🕯️ Faith, Fear, and Limestone
A Southern story of faith, folklore, and the dead who never quite leave us.

Wow, the denoise function in the latest #Lightroom is....actually good.

The auto-culling function works, I guess. I'm going to have to play with it a bit longer.

No, seriously. I have been to both places. NYC wins hands down and I am not even wealthy, especially not wealthy enough to really enjoy that city.

Dallas is a pit, a layover from hell.
Anyone talking about how the wealthy are going to leave NYC for Dallas have never been to NYC or Dallas.

"Well guys, you're gonna have to learn his f*cking name now."

I went on a rant at the Zohran Mamdani event last night, against billionaires who spent millions to try and stop a guy whose name they refuse to correctly pronounce.

I'm very proud of this piece. It was a bit more personal than I usually write, but this area is dear to me.

Unfortunately, the photography for the newspaper didn't come through nearly as much.

Stamps Cemetery a labor of love, history
The road to Stamps Cemetery winds like a thought you can't quite let go of, narrow, cracked, and shaded by trees that seemed older than the idea of Tennessee itself.
