Hi there! Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. My name's Mickey; project manager and graphic designer by day; illustrator, writer, and multimedia artist by night.

Just trying to make sense of the sheer expansiveness of life through whatever means I can find.
I have been listening to a somewhat ridiculous amount of political coverage on the Trump administration and my overall takeaway is simply that this is likely the largest test of the constitution we've ever seen.

Literally bought a thermal label printer JUST to do this lol.

So my "distract myself from everything going on and help calm down" writing project has ballooned into a 60,000+ word manuscript that might end up being unpublishable but can very loosely be summarized with "what if multidimensional telepathic whales wanted revenge?"

It's pretty good.

Took a couple months to finally get the gusto to make this, but so glad I did. I've been craving some pasta salad for literally like a year and this Ina Garten recipe with tomato, kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes, and feta really really hit the spot. 🍜

It's all just extremely overwhelming, but the thing I choose to focus on is simply whatever makes my next step ever so slightly less difficult.

You should watch Severance if you haven’t already. It’s a marvel and reawakening my love for human creativity, which is quite a lovely thing

Giving your attention to the beauty of this planet we call home, in return, gives you awe. And that gives you fuel. And we could all use a bit more fuel right now.

I've run the numbers, and it turns out there is in fact not enough time to do everything you need to do in a single day while working a full time job.

What if, I don't know, there was good news. Have we thought about doing that.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

I've been trying out a new schedule where I get up at 5AM and go to bed at 9PM. I work 9AM-5PM, so it's an exact split of the day. It was a suggestion of some random YouTube video I watched lol. And I gotta say, this has to be the most progress I've made towards general goals in a long time.

There is so much strength to be found in momentum. Once you've taken the first step, the next step becomes that much easier. And boy have I been enjoying that feeling.

A client of mine runs quite a few Air BnBs and wanted to make a formal brand identity for that portion of their business. Busted this out in about 45 minutes as a concept prior to making the full mini brand identity. What do you think?

(P.S., I was not consulted on the name lol) #graphicdesign

All three of my democratic party representatives voted yes on the Laken Riley Act. *sigh*

So I have officially sent my first personally written correspondence to all three of them asking if they are concerned about abuse of the power this act grants. We shall see if they respond. 👀

Not only did I go into a local butcher shop for the first time today, but I also bought a pound of salmon for the first time ($23 lol). I feel like Ina Garten all the sudden.

I disagree with those who, in the midst of the storm, are saying that ‘we all are on our own’ -

It isn’t true. It can’t be true.

"The seed of all reform and revolution is planted simply by sitting and thinking about how fucking asinine this system is."
Capping how much wealth any individual could accumulate would go a long way towards solving some of our most persistent social problems and it is ridiculous that it is impossible to have a serious mainstream discussion of the idea.

"By expressing ourselves wholly, some of our soul splashes out of our cups and seeps into the ground, spreading amongst the interconnected root system we all share. Through this, we all gain strength."

Trying my hand at taking the bottoms of green onions and regrowing them. Not sure why I never tried before. They immediately started growing. 🤣
