Hi there! Just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself. My name's Mickey; project manager and graphic designer by day; illustrator, writer, and multimedia artist by night.

Just trying to make sense of the sheer expansiveness of life through whatever means I can find.
Holy crap, Jonathan! This is insane and amazing. I am SO IMPRESSED. The amount of work in this? Insanity! I love it haha.

Overcompensating is a perfect show. I cannot say enough good things about it.

But that's not looking likely, obviously. And so, with that the constitution becomes essentially an afterthought rather than the backbone in which our entire country runs upon. And beyond that... we resemble that which the United States was intent on escaping.

The entire basis of the constitution is checks and balances, and if the executive branch simply chooses to ignore the judicial branch then... all that's left to do is for the legislative branch to impeach (given the lack of physical enforcement power the judicial branch actually has).

I have been listening to a somewhat ridiculous amount of political coverage on the Trump administration and my overall takeaway is simply that this is likely the largest test of the constitution we've ever seen.

Literally bought a thermal label printer JUST to do this lol.

So my "distract myself from everything going on and help calm down" writing project has ballooned into a 60,000+ word manuscript that might end up being unpublishable but can very loosely be summarized with "what if multidimensional telepathic whales wanted revenge?"

It's pretty good.

Took a couple months to finally get the gusto to make this, but so glad I did. I've been craving some pasta salad for literally like a year and this Ina Garten recipe with tomato, kalamata olives, sun dried tomatoes, and feta really really hit the spot. 🍜

Or maybe it doesn't make a real, measurable difference. Who fucking knows lol. Maybe it's all just trade-offs. But it feels right, so I'm just gonna keep pressing onward haha. This can essentially be chalked up to a pep talk to do dishes. 🤣

Many of the core aspects of my life (cooking, cleaning, taking care of myself) have been built on considerably unstable ground. Although these facets can be pretty fucking dull, I feel like the effort of reconstructing this base will one day make the more invigorating prospects that much easier.
February 12, 2025 at 1:48 PM
It's all just extremely overwhelming, but the thing I choose to focus on is simply whatever makes my next step ever so slightly less difficult.

You should watch Severance if you haven’t already. It’s a marvel and reawakening my love for human creativity, which is quite a lovely thing

Giving your attention to the beauty of this planet we call home, in return, gives you awe. And that gives you fuel. And we could all use a bit more fuel right now.

I've run the numbers, and it turns out there is in fact not enough time to do everything you need to do in a single day while working a full time job.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

But with getting up early enough to give myself a few hours to do something of my choosing at peak mental capacity, boy is it so much easier to *actually do the damn thing.*

Usually, I'm emotionally struggling in the morning. Finding the motivation to get up simply to get ready for work and go. Then I'm drained when I get home from work, so of course the last thing I want to do is something productive.
