The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

The US cannot be a serious side of the negotiations when this guy is negotiating. My dog has a higher IQ and would be better at negotiating than him. Ukraine should not take anything the US proposes seriously
It’s clear from this that the only difference between Steve Witkoff’s and Vladmir Putin’s views on the war in Ukraine is that Putin actually knows the names of all the five Ukrainian regions he wants to keep.
