fastest way to decentralize bluesky is to make custom emojis a thing and make them exclusive to running a PDS. see how fast everyone learns what a PDS is if they're promised custom emoji

In the Wii series games, Wuhu Island is committed to clean air by only allowing electric vehicles. However, in Mario Kart 7, gas vehicles are used in the races. This implies that Mario made a deal with the Wuhu Island administration to receive exclusive pollution privileges.

I can empathize that git does not make sense for a lot of people, but in my head I just see the tree view from tortoisegit on windows a decade ago with commit dots on colored lines, and little rectangle markers for branch tips and tags, and it all makes such clear sense, even tho I use bare CLI now.
I love how probably 90% of people who use git agree that it's often super unintuitive and difficult to do pretty basic things (like, say, revert a commit) and every time it's brought up the Computer People are like "it makes perfect sense what are you talking about"

If you solder a ~10cm long "antenna" wire to a laptop's DRAM data bus, it makes it extra sensitive to electromagnetic interference.

So much so that clicking a piezo-electric arc lighter nearby can induce bit-flips.

I wrote an exploit to turn those bitflips into a shell:

I don't normally comment on this stuff but I guess I've just hit my limit. I've been watching Jay make consistently strong strategic decisions under incredible pressure, and watching her get dogged by this 2nd rate nonsense is too much. That guy isn't the story. The fact Jay charted her own path is.

So in people with high scrupulousity ("must read all the important things!") + high avoidance ("I am overwhelmed by the thought of this so I'll start it Later") -- which is a common combo in the neurotype microblogging selects for -- even a subconscious reassurance can overrule the avoidance.

I absolutely refused to believe it for *years* until people I knew at other properties patiently said "no, it's true" and showed me the data. It's like a 98% preference for algo over chrono and it's not even close. It's just that the heavy users are the ones who prefer chrono.
