Sad to read about the passing of Sheila Jordan, a true jazz legend. Also one of the most fun people I’ve interviewed; even well into her 90s she had such energy and wit. And plenty of great stories featuring a “who’s who” of the jazz world!

About to see Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony with POTUS at the Kennedy Center.

Me to Usha: so what’s this sound like? An introduction featuring the Dresden Amen and a finale based around Martin Luther’s Ein Feste Burg is Unser Gott?

Usha: [hysterical laughter]

Out playing a gig this evening, someone asked me about my shirt. Turns out they’re visiting all the way from Sharon, MA, where Leonard Bernstein used to spend his summers, and are fans of @crbclassical.bsky.social!

I hate that the worst person in Worcester has somehow gotten a national audience, but it is nice to see our beloved statue of a boy having a really, really good time with a turtle getting a mention.
A profane blogger who calls himself Turtleboy believes an innocent woman is being framed for murder, Chris Heath reports. He’ll do anything to prove he’s right—and terrorize anyone who says he’s wrong.

“There seems to be a quietness or denial about what’s going on. I feel utter anger. I cannot go on with this feeling inside. I cannot just go and play a tour of beautiful concerts.”

Sad that it has come to this. Am not surprised at Tetzlaff's decision, and fully support it.

Symphony No. 4: Samoas
It’s all fun and games where the Symphony No. 4 is concerned! What if we combine all that delights and dazzles - caramel, chocolate, coconut - into one cohesive whole? The Symphony No. 4 is a little extra, but that’s what makes it so delicious.
