I lived in NYC for 30 years. Raised 2 kids there. Both professionals now. Neither can afford to live there. I moved partly because it had become unaffordable, but also because the influx of the super wealthy felt like an invasion. I am moved almost to tears this morning. I ❤️ NYC.

Impossible to communicate to people that once you decide that a group more vulnerable than you can be sacrificed in the name of your own safety or interests that you have already entered into an tacit agreement that you can also be sacrificed in the interests of a group less vulnerable than you.

my boyfriend made his first catch in the outfield during a softball game last night 🥹 this was only the 5th game he’s played in his life, and I went absolutely nuts about it like the proud mommy I am!

The drama continues and becomes a comedy. The unleashed neighbor said it was too bad all this happened because she had a friend that she could have introduced me to that I would have liked - a screenwriter, no less. It will be a challenge. But I will find a way to go on.

Update on the neighbor unleashed. I said I had no carrots or sticks to encourage her to comply with the dog leash rules, but I hoped that my point-blank request was enough. She accused me of threatening violence against her (with the stick, or maybe the carrot, IDK).

A neighbor lets her unruly dogs off leash on my local hiking trail. I’ve asked her to leash them so my JRT doesn’t go John Wayne on their ass. Today, I asked her again to please leash her dogs because laws, rules. She said I was rude to do so “in these tough times.” 1/2
