This is Minneapolis:

Walk into my neighborhood ACE last night & see the signage on their door notifying fed agents that it’s private property and cannot be used for immigration enforcement. These signs are all over the city.

Walk in & the nearest shelf has goggles & whistles.

Farewell to CBS News and "60 Minutes." It just went the way of the Washington Post's editorial page

Think of scene building like creating a storyboard: frame by frame, you decide what the reader must see, feel, and understand. Instead of letting the scene meander, you build toward the decisive high moment and character change one “segment” at a time.

Crafting Cinematic Action by Scene Segmenting | Jane Friedman

From 2018 to 2024, the tax rate paid by eight major retailers was slashed from 30% to just 17.5%.

The CEOs of those major retailers were paid a collective $1.3 billion.

Meanwhile, the average worker at those stores was paid less than $32,000 in 2024.

Nothing trickled down.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed seven straight audits.

#TheOrphanage is one of those movies that *terrified* me on a first viewing, but once you know the twist the genre changes from horror to drama. It's a turn-off for some folks, but I love it so. Also, the knock knock game scene is one of the creepiest things ever put on film.
