However, the screenplay seriously needed revision work before they entered production. Those restaurant scenes felt interminably long after a while and dramatically flat.

This had fun moments for sure, but at the end I just wanted to rewatch A Monster Calls again (also with Weaver).

Toothbrush violence or not, it’s ridiculous this movie is rated R, bc it’s intended audience will probably miss it. Like all of Fuller’s work, it had impeccable production value, but the movie really dragged for me. Mads was awesome though.

That was awesome. Pushing Daisies S3 or Hannibal S4? BOTH PLEASE!! Still bummed we didn’t get to see his version of Crystal Lake.

I appreciated your observation that Buster & Virginia weren’t in the book. Goldman created them to lighten the dark tone of the source material. Frances Sternhagen would show up in another King adaptation (as Irene the cashier at the grocery store in The Mist) seventeen years later. Cool ep.
