An American in Scotland, just getting by.
I'm gonna jump on the #MTGxATLA train with a megathread of my thoughts on which Commander each ATLA main character (plus some side chars) would love to play.

The twist? The commander identity must *not* include a colour associated with their national identity.

Ya'll I gotta warn you off the street vendors in downtown Simic, between High Street and Tidewater. I picked up a bootleg version of With Her cologne, figured nobody would know the difference. Turns out it's just Wither. Now I can't touch anything without breaking several insurance policies.
Everyone should post like they're a planeswalker. I think it would be silly.

I just finished a speaking tour and everyone in my industry (marketing) has fully drank the cool aid on AI. But if back-to-back-to-back conferences have taught me anything it's that it's all grifter tools for grifters.

Everything is being sold as a promise of what maybe AI can possibly do.

In my professional career I have found exactly three ways to label document versions:

Doc v0.1, v0.2, v0.3 -> Never Commits to 1.0
Doc v1.0, v2.0, v3.0 -> Useless Decimals
Doc v1, v2, v1 NEW, v3, v2 ACTUAL -> Nightmare

Conservative white men are not used to actually being the victim of violence which is why we are seeing such a massive fear reaction from the Right disguised as “where is your EMPATHY, perform it for me RIGHT NOW!”

My new favourite fidget/pocket toy is this mini dice set in its beautiful wooden case from @elderwoodacademy.bsky.social. I love having some dice in my pocket to roll on a whim, and the perfectly aligned magnetised lid keeps things well secured.

Most of my #EDH decks are Golgari, or Golgari adjacent (BG+), so I'm going to switch it up with a mono white deck with MOM. Should be a fun building exercise!

It's disappointing that discussions around UB are that they only draw in new players, or that expanding the universe somehow takes away from existing players. We are well "catered" to, there have been several recent excellent in-universe sets that we can now allow to settle.
Well enfranchised #MTG player here. I've been an Avatar fan since the beginning, streaming episodes back when streaming meant just bootleg screen recordings. This is the first time I'm seeing a release that strikes a chord with me from the get-go, so it's also the first time that I'll preorder.
Sure, you're going to get a wave of newer audiences through the associated intellectual properties, but the more you dig deeper into Universes Beyond through Content - the more it can isolate enfranchised folks because they aren't being catered to anymore.

It's weird, but it's also a challenge.

Shout out to my spouse, who pronounces Bluesky as "Bluski." I'm offering no corrections, this is wonderful.

My spouse and I found a cool moth yesterday who couldn't or wouldn't fly at the local Walmart, but it sure did climb up my shirt just fine. We took it back to where we're staying, which has more trees and fewer lights, and it climbed onto me one more before taking off into the night.
