I really do not think this team stinks. I don’t think they recruited poorly. I don’t think Slot is a fraud.

Combo of cascading effects of tragedy interrupting preseason prep and them just kinda being 2014-15 Dortmund.

The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

an underdiscussed aspect of "should MLS align economically with "world football?" is "how sustainable are the economics of world football outside twenty teams in England, plus maybe Spain and Germany?"
the economics of league football outside a few large countries keep getting worse and worse
The news that Belgian football feared: as happened in France, DAZN is pulling out of its broadcasting deal with the ProLeague with immediate effect. Should no solution be found (which appears the likeliest scenario), the league's 16th round will not be broadcast in Belgium.

Are we doing this again? Trying to “solve” a sport via stats and analysis exists on a different scale than the sport being fun/enjoyable. Some “solutions” make stuff more fun, some less, and it’s the responsibility of rule-making bodies to encourage the former and reduce the latter.
My position that the nerds are bad still holds up! Even as an Arsenal fan, who loves the irony of the team that used to be bullied on set pieces dominating them, you can always bet that once the goal becomes to solve the sport, the fun of it will be engineered out in service of math.

The aftershocks from these actions will be felt for decades. They're permanently destroying families, potentially killing deportees and causing incalculable social and political damage. They're shattering humanity just to dunk on libs and rile up their White supremacist supporters(voter or not)
NEW: Air Force jets are doing ICE flights to Africa with transponders turned off, making them nearly un-trackable.

This includes the third-country removal to Ghana and another secret flight. We figured out where it landed.

Japan is playing a fully second choice XI and still has several players the USMNT would kill to have.

Another reminder that the U.S. just isn't that talented. Teams who are not considered near the best in the world, and we wouldn't bat an eye at if they went out in the groups, have better players.

Wrote this after USSF tried backing a Brinks truck in Jurgen Klopp’s driveway, but I think the main point holds up.

Spending big on an experienced club manager with zero international experience showed little vision of what needed to evolve after Berhalter’s firing. www.nytimes.com/athletic/563...
If U.S. Soccer has a plan, trying to hire Jurgen Klopp surely can’t be part of it
Replacing Gregg Berhalter is a pivotal decision. The optics of approaching the world's most high-profile free agent don't inspire confidence
