60 yrs ago was the March on Selma. 600 nonviolent Black protesters were beaten & the brutality of Bloody Sunday led to the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act

Yesterday in Transportation, I shared my concerns on HB 71 which would make protests like the March on Selma an arrestable offense. #akleg

2023 saw a 12% increase in homelessness and 2024 saw an additional 18% increase. This is a crisis that neither political party is even pretending to do anything about except to exacerbate the problem by criminalizing homelessness.

Kamala's chief advisors were senior Uber executives who cautioned her away from the kind of populism which would have spoken to Americans broad sense of revulsion with the status quo.

Curiously, Tony West and David Plouffe are considered less at fault than Sunrise and Justice Democrats.
One thing I agree with Jentleson about: progressive advocacy groups and movements sometimes expect elected officials to support unpopular issues when it's the movement's job to shift opinion.

But, otherwise, I think Jentleson badly misses the mark here. The groups were not remotely the issue.

but as everyone is finding out, Instagram influencers just aren’t good posters. they don’t have the sickness.
