2023 saw a 12% increase in homelessness and 2024 saw an additional 18% increase. This is a crisis that neither political party is even pretending to do anything about except to exacerbate the problem by criminalizing homelessness.

One thing I agree with Jentleson about: progressive advocacy groups and movements sometimes expect elected officials to support unpopular issues when it's the movement's job to shift opinion.
But, otherwise, I think Jentleson badly misses the mark here. The groups were not remotely the issue.
