The UK must deploy every single lever to end the genocide in Gaza and stop the expansion of Israeli occupation. That includes ending all arms sales and military cooperation, imposing tough sanctions on all responsible for war crimes, and banning imports from illegal settlements.

I of course welcome the recognition of the state of Palestine.

And there won't be a Palestinian state left if government's continue enabling Israel's unfolding genocide.

Labour can't credibly support Palestinian statehood whilst also continuing to arm Israel.

Migrants didn't cut council funding. Migrants didn't cut NHS funding. Migrants didn't close youth centres. Migrants didn't sell off council houses. Migrants aren't filling our rivers with sewage.

Farage and co. will tell you to point the finger at migrants.

Don't fall for it.

As a lefty and queer woman MP who speaks up in support of refugees & LGBTIQA+ issues, I attract a lot of misogynist and homophobic abuse

Wish I was surprised, but it feels inevitable in this political environment, as the far right feels validated by other political parties dancing to their tune.

The UK was a positive vocal player in these negotiations, and that's thanks to people around the country taking action.

There's still hope and we can still cut plastic production!

On this 80th anniversary of the nuclear bombing of #Hiroshima, my thoughts are with the survivors who have suffered so much. And it’s frankly horrifying that the 9 nuclear states have *already* amassed the equivalent firepower of 145.000 Hiroshima bombs - and still want more. @cnduk.bsky.social

Couldn't be clearer. Climate action is essential to protect human rights.

This means the UK has a legal duty to speed up the transition to a cleaner, greener economy and block any new licences for the extraction of fossil fuels.

This ICJ ruling should be the moment we draw a line.

🫠 Jon Cunliffe's review into the water sector deliberately left out the option of public ownership.

💸 The only way to stop millions of pounds being siphoned off for huge CEO salaries and shareholder dividends is to end the scam of privatised water.

🤝 Public ownership now.
