Follow to the Bday Incident, 2 things:
1. My husband and my MIL more than made up for it. They're marvelous people & they make me feel so very loved 🥰🥹 MIL didn't even know what had happened when she wrote me an incredibly thoughtful card message. A real motherly love letter. I'm very lucky 💚

My mom called me bc it's my bday where she is and before she even got through the word Happy, she interrupted herself to tell me to check the family chat and tell people thank you for the bday wishes.
Literally interrupted doing a nice thing and prioritized telling me about my duty instead.

The funny thing is, in our last phone call she was sad that her friends seem to have dropped her since she and my dad moved abroad. They did a group trip to a city less than 2 hours from her and she found out over FB posts. Yah that sucks but maybe it's bc she's a negative Nancy with them too 🤭
The pull parents have is so strong, I want to improve our relationship.
But I have to make it clear that since I have people in my life who actually do like me, why would I spend any time with people who don't? If she can't Just Be Nicer, then she can understand why I wouldn't want her close to me

I was phoneless for almost a week and felt so small and useless. Couldn't look anything up, couldn't text bc desktop messaging didn't have a device to connect to, no calls either, had to check emails and socials manually. Not complaining per se... It was just unexpected... and I'm jazzed to be back

I'm doing totally ok and that's why I'm starting my 3rd rewatch of Fringe, yep, definitely stable as a table over here

Snaps for me bc I just found out my MIL's divorce went through!! We worked really hard on it! Even though it was the simplest, least contentious version of the process, it was still hella confusing as first-time legal DIY-ers. I'm super proud! 🥰🥳
