When you work with foreign outlets as a reporter (BBC, Guardian, Der Spiegel, Aussie Broadcasting Corp, CBC, Popular Front for me), you become acutely aware of how degraded almost all American media outlets have become
This is why I watch foreign news - e.g. UK, Australia. Even non-English speaking countries (France, Germany, Japan) produce English language news programs.
Not saying they're perfect, but their cultural coverage is superior and at least they call BS when necessary.
