I want Ottawa Charge fans to understand that if Lansdowne 2.0 goes through as-is, there’s a genuine threat that we’ll lose our women’s hockey team. This would be devastating to our city, and to all the women + girls who have found hope and community in the PWHL.

PWHL executives Jayna Hefford and Amy Scheer write that it's not too late to change the story on Lansdowne 2.0.

It's been 25 years since One-Big-Ottawa was imposed on us. The world has finally taken note: this thing doesn't really work for urban or rural residents. I wrote about why and what's next.

I want to express my profound disappointment today that the City has ordered its workers back into the office five days a week. It is a short-sighted decision that serves no one well in either the short or long term. (1/6)

Great message from St. Catherine's Mayor Mat Siscoe at the final AMO panel. "We don't need wider highways to address congestion in Ontario. We need more rail." Ottawa, meet the Beachburg Rail Corridor. I'm going to be talking about this a lot over the coming months.

In less than 24 hours, two cyclists have been seriously hurt in Ottawa's suburbs. Residents in Orleans, Kanata, Barrhaven and Stittsville don't want to feel like they have no alternative but to drive everywhere, but they need comfortable, safe ways to walk and bike to local destinations.

Today it took 20 minutes to get down Elgin and another 50 to get to Bells Corners by car. A balanced approach to our transportation network gets us all nowhere fast. We need to shift our investments to give people who want to get out of cars a real choice. Show me who is happy moving around Ottawa.

Whether on Elgin, or Bank, or Somerset, or Wellington, or Preston, or in much of Byward Market, how could this not benefit Ottawa? As does Montreal, the closures are from May - October. Businesses, neighbourhoods, and people would thrive. Public space would actually be public space!
This week marks the launch of another Open Street season in Montreal featuring the best pedestrian streets in North America.

The program is a mode for other cities to see what’s possible when you prioritize people over automobiles on just a fraction of our streets.

I get the free throw thing, but SGA ranked second (behind DeRozan) in midrange makes this year. It's kind of odd that fans who want more classic old-school hoopers aren't embracing him more. He's a modern guard who won the scoring title without focusing on 3s!
