AOC is just one high profile woman of color who has been targeted with the worst kind of threats for years. She was specifically targeted on J6. Still—She’s fighting & telling people how to fight for their communities. I don’t care what you think of her politics. We just need more of that energy.

I see regular folks trying brave things. And I see those w the most protection & most insulation mostly doing everything they can to bend the knee. Media companies, tech companies, most politicians—I did not think the bending of the knee would be this complete & this universal this quickly.
Everything happening is terrifying but the complete betrayal and rolling over of “the opposition party” is maybe what horrifies me the most.

Just heard from a friend that all Star Wars TV is moving production from SoCal to England. Anyone know the reasoning behind this? Lots of local crew are devastated by the news... @steelewars.bsky.social @charlieashby.bsky.social @starwarsnewsnet.bsky.social @talkingbay94.bsky.social

The Empire could fix this by:
-Exempting planet destroying weapons from environmental impact views on the grounds that the environmental impacts are already known (they destroy planets)
-Requiring contractors to bid competitively
-Limiting community outreach to planets that will NOT be destroyed

“I’m normally an analytical reader—I like to pull stories apart, to ask their creators how those stories were made. I like thinking about the blank pages that stories eventually became and how nothing transformed into something beautiful.

Not today.”

If I could ask George Lucas one question, it would be this: "What do you think of AI use in art and filmmaking?" As a pioneer of filmmaking technology, would he embrace this tech as a tool or see it as a threat to human creativity?

We try to answer this question in our latest ep: trashcompod.com/42
