thank you!! i wrote a whole thing abt this, there is such demonisation of "chose to be a man" like... yes i chose to try reducing psychic and physical pain vs the alternative. framing it as a choice is scary bc it means taking an active role in your own life which is v hard and worth being proud of

In practice arguing for gender as a construct while not fully pushing sex as changeable has led to cis people, conservative and liberal, seeing sex as set in stone truth and gender as either fake gay shit to hate or fake gay shit to be polite about that doesn't actually change one's preconceptions

we still need things like a bed, utensils, and plywood sheets to make shelves (wife can make those! X3), just while we're not on disability aid. we can walk on our own from there.

this is so real. I get that it's mad fucked that they made us do the wrong puberty the first time, but we can't allow ourselves to be trapped by the past. I also get that it's mad fucked that a lot of people are gonna see us as a type of quirked up woman, but we can't agree with them.
I wonder how different somethings would play out if a lot of trans men online *actually* saw themselves as a kind of man instead of a kind of woman
