The first Irish-Irish dictionary ever was released this year, like a month ago, so hopefully @tg4.bsky.social and cula4 will start making sure they have subtitles in Irish AND English. It's always one or the other, and the subtitles are frequently missing same-language lines (I'll explain in part 2)

Linking the march across the bridge to the massacre is disgusting and everyone doing so should be deeply ashamed of their giving tacit support for genocide

college gardens is one of my least favourite streets in belfast

flanked by an elite religious school, the insistence on having parking on both sides and a footpath that is literally just one lane so you’re constantly forced in and out of walking on the road

"we USE ai, but our game wont CONTAIN it" is a clarification that no one has ever cared about & now CEOs are using it as a wedge to get their foot in the door as a part of a long term plan into normalizing AI, just like how 'it's just placeholder' was used with E33. dont cede even an inch of ground

And so it begins.
Minns tries to distract from a security failure in the face of terrorist attack:
by suppressing the right to protest.

If he was really concerned about "community disharmony", he would stop sucking up to the Israel lobby. #nswpol

Using gen ai for text and asset placeholders is not solving a problem; games have been made for decades with regular placeholders. studios using AI this way are just testing the water to see what more they can get away with - which will inevitably mean laying off skilled workers, to make worse games

also if an account is rapidly cycling its information and pictures ! this is the best new labeller i’ve seen in a while!
these 3 labels from @stechlab-labels.bsky.social when combined paint a pretty vivid picture of a bot/scammer/bad actor — unfollows/follows lots of accounts, posts without many breaks, and posts at a high volume

If these people ever engaged with the Autistic (& wider disability community) they could learn about how these concepts have come up before. But most of these people have only been (self-)diagnosed in the last few years and their identity is wholly singular and not based in community/solidarity.

the 2nd argument doesn’t even make sense because twitter has ALWAYS been niche; its outsized influence is because of the people that choose to use it, so saying bluesky doesn’t have enough reach isn’t really… meaningful at all
"Bluesky is an echo chamber."
"Bluesky doesn't have enough reach"
"Liberals must return to X to challenge the far right"

I get why but seeing Americans pre-emptively praising Australia's reaction to the Bondi terror attacks badly underestimates how much politically-driven misdiagnosis will push the response into something that doesn't actually help prevent terror attacks and gun violence
Sussan Ley, touting the Antisemitism Envoy’s report, demanding that it be immediately implemented.

The plan has been emphatically rejected by the Australian Human Rights Institute,
Amnesty Internatjonal and a coalition of 9 Jewish groups.

I don't often comment on these on open social media because I don't want to contribute to informational chaos and misinformation amidst a bloody tragedy. But when the dust settles and the facts become clear... all that's left is grief and tears you can't see.

And then, what is there to say?

We should all be able to gather with our communities, practice our culture, and worship in safety. 3/4
