Read this from Ben Santer (very famous climate scientist for those who don’t know) about what NCAR means and what dismantling it will do.
Threatening NCAR, Trump administration seeks to extinguish a beacon of climate science
The Trump administration’s world view is that the US doesn’t need a climate science brain trust because it doesn’t like what the brains say.

The Trump regime wants to dismantle a world leading climate research center. Why? Because the US has become a petrostate where the government has been captured by fossil fuel interests.
They’re calling climate science “green new scam research”, in full denial of reality. 🤯

Latest @ukceh.bsky.social UK hydrological summary for November 2025 - very wet with shift from #drought to #flood concerns and consistent with an expected more variable and extreme water cycle in a warming #climate:

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Hard-hitting truth-telling from UCL Prof Anthony Costello….

“The Covid Public Inquiry is a devastating critique of medical advisers, civil servants and politicians who led the UK to the worst public health disaster in a century. More than 230,000 deaths.”

REVEALED: Willow trees on Dartmoor common owned by Prince William deliberately poisoned with herbicide

This is an outrageous act of sabotage. Dartmoor’s commons are virtually treeless already, due to centuries of overgrazing by sheep. The culprit must be found:

It's no longer fiction. BBC4's Danish drama (Families Like Ours) portrayed the evacuation of Denmark due to climate change. Danish population: 6 milion. Tehran: nearly 10 million.
“What once sounded unthinkable is now being said openly: Tehran is not viable; and evacuation orders are imminent.
As I wrote before, President Masoud Pezeshkian himself said that it might be necessary to relocate Tehranis in large number.” open.substack.com/pub/peterfra...
Makran or Bust: Tehran's water crisis gets worse
Ten days ago I wrote that Tehran was approaching a point where warnings, pressure cuts and appeals to save water would no longer be enough.

Seems prudent to me to take the precautionary principle when so much is at stake. We must look at adaptation to such abrupt changes in rainfall and temperatures, our food supply depends on it. Which Nordic nations are doing. And Britain isn't.
Iceland Climate Minister Johannsson: "It is a direct threat to our national resilience and security. (This) is the first time a specific climate-related phenomenon has been formally brought before the National Security Council as a potential existential threat."

Iceland deems possible Atlantic current collapse a security risk
Iceland has designated the potential collapse of a major Atlantic Ocean current system a national security concern and an existential threat, enabling its government to strategize for worst-case scenarios, the country's climate minister told Reuters.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

people are still furious about the 2008 bailout and that was almost two decades ago
Tech guys six months ago: haha yes we’re cutting all this WASTEFUL spending by eliminating medical research and USAID

Tech guys now: yes I think taxpayers will be excited to bailout my non consensual pornography machine

1000mm of rain is a very wet year's worth of rain in this part of England. This is coming in one storm.
Latest frame shows a near perfect hurricane with a classic "pinhole" eye. Only 9 Atlantic hurricanes have had stronger peak sustained winds (5 of them being from the past two decades). Great concern for #Jamaica.
Melissa, now with sustained winds of 175 mph (280 km/hr) and capable of gusts to 260+ mph (425+ km/hr) on windward hilltops, 40" (1000 mm) of rain, and a 13 ft (4 m) storm surge, has started the feared turn to the northwest. First NW then north is the forecast. #Jamaica #HurricaneAlert

Of all the regular climate disaster dreads—and there are far too many—the worst for me are when they loom for Haiti or Pakistan. Because my god, those folks have suffered.

Everything just kind of stops inside me when I look at images like this.

Praying for Jamaica and Haiti today.
Hurricane Melissa has just hit a new peak intensity of 145 MPH, sitting just 115 miles SSW of Kingston. The NHC forecasts it intensifying to Cat 5 status. When it hits Jamaica on Tuesday it could cause long-term damage to basic infrastructure.

Rachel Reeves is reportedly considering raising income tax next month.

Of course Labour are planning on going after working people while conveniently ignoring the super-rich who are hoarding this country's wealth.

The Green Party is clear - time to tax wealth, not work.
