hi friends! i'm trying to help someone i love get the gender affirming care she needs before too much legislation passes and she's not able to anymore. she lives in a state that's hyper-focused on hating queer people and she has to jump through a lot of dumb hoops just to exist semi-peacefully.

"No one ever thought this would happen" is dishonest and journalists not pointing that out are doing you all a disservice. Many people said word for word this would happen. You just didn't respect those people. And you need to be honest instead of the feigned surprise for sympathy.

It would be fantastic if major federal institutions would acknowledge that the executive branch cannot legally unilaterally cancel or redistribute congressionally appropriated funding on ideological grounds and thus they have no legal obligation to comply with such directives
