The agents, both 40-ish men wearing plain clothes and carried a manilla folder and a walkie talkie, were told by the manager they needed a warrant. Upon hearing this, the agents said they didn't need a warrant and tried to push past the staff to get at the kitchen workers, but staff didn't budge and the manager ran the agents off, insisting they needed a warrant until the agents finally left. No one was detained.

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism.

If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone.

Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

This is a concession by the U.S. government that its “arrangement” with El Salvador is irrevocable. To me this has to be grounds to argue that the arrangement itself is unconstitutional under the Fifth and Eighth Amendments

No one wants a paper trail because spending funds Congress has not appropriated is colloquially known as “stealing from the US Treasury.”
However, on Friday, FAA officials ordered staff to begin finding tens of millions of dollars for a Starlink deal, according to a source with knowledge of the FAA and two people briefed on the situation. The sources note that these internal directives have mostly, if not entirely, been delivered verbally — which they say is unusual for a matter like this. The source with knowledge of the FAA tells Rolling Stone that it appears as though “someone does not want a paper trail.”
