An important thing that is often ignored about Mamdani: he's cheerful! Taking the city's (and country's) problems seriously doesn't have to mean projecting nothing but darkness and rage. His positive vibe is an unbelievably effective way to make the tent bigger. As is fun/dorky stuff like this.

btw: Susan Harris, the creator of "The Golden Girls," is still alive. She's 84 and to be fair we don't know if she would have been up to appearing briefly on stage to say something about the origins of the show, but her absence seems conspicuous ... especially in this era of celebrating showrunners!

This article mentions the paper ballots nonsense and nowhere does it note 99%+ of votes in the United States, including all of them in all but a couple of (deep red!) states, are already cast using paper ballots. That's much worse than the bad subhead.
This “explicit” is a weird editorial choice. The constitution gives the president no power over this at all. It’s not ambiguous.

RIP Jerry Adler, a veteran stage manager (including for the original Broadway production of My Fair Lady!) who switched to acting when he was 65 and soon became an indelible character guy (Hesh!) I interviewed him for my Mike Nichols bio; as you'd imagine, he was a bottomless treasure chest of lore.
