Rather than doing all the good things quietly and all the shitty things loudly, maybe Labour should shout about the good things it's doing and stop doing the shitty things altogether instead.

A month ago, the famine in Gaza, deliberately created by the Israeli government, was officially confirmed by UN agencies. Since then, there has been an eerie silence in the media here, with far fewer reports than there were before. But it hasn't ended. On the contrary, it has intensified.

Today, the UN officially designated Israel’s assault on Gaza as a genocide.

As a party to the Genocide Convention, the U.S. has a legal obligation to obey our own laws, stop weapons sales to Israel, and demand a permanent ceasefire.

End the genocide. Ceasefire now.

Anneliese Dodds demonstrating a strong and principled message. Starmer made a calculated move, trying to align with a shifting geopolitical landscape. The irony is that, he risks undermining the UK's long-term influence in international development, multilateral institutions, and security.
Terrific resignation letter by Anneliese Dodds, this.

SC UK have initiated their plans, at the SC international, we still await our fait. 😢
Save the Children UK plans almost 200 redundancies as it restructures.

The move is part of its part of its “refocus for impact” plan, begun in 2024, and not simply a response to recent challenges like the UK govt's plan to cut the aid budget, & the USAID freeze.
