Trump hand puppet. Whatever DRT wants he'll get...
Speaker Johnson has literally said he's "not promising anyone anything."
For once, I believe him.

Seems many in DEM leadership 'want the $$$'...
Voters want a Democratic Party that fights back against the forces that have rigged the system and made their lives more difficult.
A party that comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable —not a party that buckles and capitulates.
When will party leadership learn this lesson?

Different results require a change in leadership for the Dems. Not probable while DRT holds office and seems to get stronger monthly.
While the DNC is not responsble for the votes....the DNC is partially responsible...particularly for the larger strategic failure to maintain caucus unity...and enforce messaging discipline.

And will likely be primaried as soon as practicable.
Every Democratic Senator who voted for this should know better.

Big,Big,Big Money controls him. When they cannot use him or control him due to diminished capacities they will jettison him. They will drop him like a hot potato.
#BlueSkyVets The genuine spectacle America needs to champion is not political drama or performative outrage, but the visceral crisis of food insecurity plaguing millions of its citizens.
This moral obscenity, is so ethically demanding, that it demands action.

And why billionaires hate social democrats - they are very independent of reliance on $$$$ that fat cats offer and thus won't be bought. It makes the little guy feel empowered which is anathema to the big money guys.
Very true, Cole has such amazing insight. 👏
Zohran Mamdani’s win is a reminder: politicians work for us, the people not billionaires, not their buddies, not their families.
Do right by the 99%, or we’ll find leaders who will. 💪

Recent AP Poll shows 80% of 'Independent' voters over 45+ think the country is headed in the wrong direction.
Independents are a growing segment of the voting population and it reflects dissatisfaction with both parties.
But will they show up in 2026 General Elections and do something about it.

American consumers aren't happy campers. Sentiment across the country is close to the lowest it has ever been as rising inflation, rising unemployment, mass firings, a global trade war and now record-breaking government shutdown have combined to make people less than cheery as the holidays approach.

Utilities and their regulators better wise up...voters are becoming very, very sensitive to steeply rising residential electricity rates. Elected officials 'heads will roll', figuratively.
Jeez, I should hope so.
A corrupt administration selling out ratepayers, to shovel their money to creepy polluter billionaires, damned well better be an issue we can win!

Democrats show early signs of winning energy messaging war
Democrats won gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey, where candidates made affordability concerns and skyrocketing electricity bills central to their campaigns.

Trump is the dominant political figure of our time. He is also the person who’s presented himself as the 'master deal maker'. Most people who are not paying close attention to the ins and outs of negotiations say, ‘Well, Trump’s the guy in charge. So if the government isn’t open, it’s his fault.’”

Endorse (both the 'small town political scientist' and 'ambition must be made to counter ambition' among the branches of government)
I'm just a small town political scientist, but I think a good way to be a jealous guardian of Article I would be to get the House back to work.
Mike Johnson on the tariffs case before SCOTUS: "I'm cheering for the president that the executive will win on this. Now, I say that as a jealous guardian of the legislative branch of government, Article 1."
