Maybe a stupid question but instead of singling-out EVs, why doesn’t @teamlabouruk.bsky.social just change the rules so that passenger cars are based on weight? EV drivers would automatically end up footing bigger % of tax burden while carmakers would be incentivised to sell fewer stupid SUVs?

I think the thing for me about Labour and the Tories saying that the Greens 'wouldn't do things right' is that we've tried austerity, anti immigration approaches, brexit, ignoring the environment and not properly taxing wealth and THAT hasn't worked has it?
