Hard to overstate the number of gatekeeper butterflies on our marjoram plants this morning. Vintage numbers of ladybirds around the place, too. Maybe we’re not all doomed?

This is how the '10 Cool Facts about the B-2 Spirit' page on Northrop Grumman's corporate site currently looks. Either a brilliantly coincidental outage or someone in its web team has a sense of humour...

It’s hard to reconcile the increasingly all-pervading sense of long-term environmental gloom with just how fantastic the garden is looking in this eerily dry English spring

I love that our village boozer does this - should be standard!

Early March here in the UK, our battery storage is already full and we’re charging our EV for free, while also selling surplus power back into the grid. Said it once, said it a thousand times: ROOFTOP SOLAR SHOULD BE THE NORM BY NOW!!!

18 December in perennially overcast England and still 3/4 of our domestic electricity needs right now are being met by 10 x cheap Chinese solar panels on our roof. The fact this tech hasn’t been mandatory on UK new builds for years now is maddening, no other polite word for it… #GoSolar

The anti-EV lobby - underwritten by you-know-which-industry-and-why - would have you think charging stations are a regular problem. Actually this was the first time we’ve needed one for our (£8K, top-spec, pre-loved) Leaf in two years of ownership. (Also: 60kwh chargers fill 22kwh batteries like 💥)

Generating double our current domestic consumption, while also charging the overnight battery and selling surplus back into the grid. In the dreary UK, in almost December. Maddening that this tech hasn’t been mandatory on new residential developments for years now.

Decent view of what Europe’s tallest mountain (Elbrus - 5,642m), or at least I think it was, from this morning’s Baku>Istanbul flight on what must be a contender for the world’s most tired A320.
