I want to agree, but it will also require concurrent DC and PR statehood as well as reforming (if not packing) the Supremes. If we *only* eliminate the filibuster, it *will* come back to bite us.
I want to take the hand of every Democratic senator and gently tell them:

"I know you're trying, but I swear to god, if we take back Congress and don't eliminate the filibuster and spend several more years telling people what we wish we could do, I'll spend every day hoping you step on LEGOs."

It's unsurprising but nonetheless disturbing and disgusting to see how many "Christian" men are out here doing their damnedest to justify the rape and abuse of teenage girls.

They already have the $ to keep people from starving. They refuse.

States try to feed people. They try to block it.

Now folks can’t fly home to their parents on Thanksgiving.

All in the name of raising insurance premiums.

roberts’s constitution allows for racial discrimination as long as you don’t say you’re racially discriminating, because in a classic bit of racecraft, roberts’s constitution forbids acknowledging race but has no particular issue with racism.

As a theoretical cosmologist, I'm frequently asked "what is the benefit of the work you're doing for people's lives?" Nothing I work on makes money or cures disease.

There are a few different answers one can give, at various levels of "convincing" / "actually relevant to why the work is done."

The Sora AI thing is proof of something very important: The technology itself is useless without the ability to use the likenesses of real, living, unpredictable people, and the art they create. And the only way to get those likenesses or that art is to summarily steal it.

Well, the federal government has officially shut down, and it’s entirely the fault of Trump and the Republican Party. They control the White House and Congress. They cancelled multiple meetings with Democrats to hash out an agreement. They clearly wanted a shutdown. Pathetic.

"Higher tax rates will destroy the country! It's communism!"

We literally have the interstate highway system because a Republican president--a retired four-star general and noted opponent of communism--kept the tax rate on the highest earners in the country at 91 percent of their income over 200k.

Okay I'll tell a quick story. A million years ago, I used to write for Esquire's website. I wrote a nice thing about Jimmy Kimmel that was almost certainly illegible trash. He then followed me on Twitter and, ever the Weird Twitter purveyor, invited me to meet him after a show after a goofy tweet.

The Free Speech President has now pulled two of the three major late night hosts off the air through threats and intimidation because of their jokes. Obviously I’m behind Jimmy Kimmel 100% in the face of this fascist garbage. Speech against this admin isn’t just being chilled, they’re freezing it.

Pretty sad that every foreign country understands the best way to get what they want out of Trump—no matter what it happens to be—is throwing him a big military parade. That’s the price. Treating him like a toddler in search of a bag of candy.

Big congrats to all the Democrats who voted for the bill forcing the sale of TikTok... to some of Trump's closest allies. Big brain stuff there, guys. Great move. 🙃

Anyway, remember how Twitter became a far-right cesspool after Musk bought it? That's what's going to happen to TikTok.

Your legacy is the way you made people feel. Your words and actions and rhetoric.

It’s how you’ll be remembered. It’s your lasting impact on others.

We should be helpers in this world, not only because it’s right and good and just, but because it is the legacy we leave for others.
