What Sarah brings up below is a good example of what I mean - selectively editing a Trump soundbite to make him sound less unhinged and rude, to take out of context only the words that make him sound reasonable? Don't print lies in the newspaper! bsky.app/profile/sgoo...
It's interesting that mainstream outlets that I heard, like NPR, only ran the audio from his statement that made him sound more reasonable, starting with "We're not going to war" and omitting his degrading remarks to the reporter (why?!?). But his supporters are proud of the degradation.
